Illinois State University (Early childhood educ)
My name is Teresa. I am currently 25 years old and live in the Lakeview area. I graduated from ISU about 3 years ago with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. After I graduated I was a T.A for two years working with students who have special needs. I am now working at a preschool in Lincoln Park. I enjoy working with children and seeing them grow and learn. I would love to be a tutor to help students become confident in a subject area they feel they are weak in and or increase their confidence in other subject areas.
I have a bachelor's in early childhood education and throughout college I was involved in a program called partners in reading at the library. I also have worked with students who have special needs and require the additional assistance.
I believe that since I have studied early childhood and the early stages of beginning to read, write, count, add, and experiment, I am a suitable candidate to tutor a elementary aged student.
I was able to student teach in a second grade classroom where phonics was a huge part of the curriculum. Also, by working with special needs students in 3rd and 4th grade I was able to assist them with their phonics needs and help them to reach their individual goals.
I am very excited to become apart of you're academic success and would love nothing more then to help you grow confident in all areas of learning. My name is Teresa. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
