I hold a graduate degree in Corporate Finance and an undergraduate degree in Quantitative Finance, with 4 years' working experience at a leading international bank. I specialize in basic to intermediate accounting and finance, including accounting principles (both GAAP and IFRS), corporate finance, managerial accounting, capital markets, derivatives and project management. I am experienced in financial products evaluation and corporate credit analysis across industries, 3 statements analysis, cash flow projections, enterprise value, LBO and M&A analysis.

Being a frequent user of Excel, I am experienced in data analysis and modeling. I am familiar with lookups, statistical and logical formulas, array formulas, solver, conditional formatting, filters, text manipulation, charting, pivot tables, macros, etc.

With my quantitative background, I had plenty course training in advanced math and related subjects, including Probability, Mathematical Statistics (including Linear Regressions, various Discrete and Continuous distributions), Linear Algebra, Operation Research, and Data Analysis. I also have experience with Financial Economics, Financial Engineering, and Quantitative Analysis for Financial Risks. I have advance knowledge in Statistics and its applications in business practice.

As a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese, I love the culture, the history and its literature. Throughout middle school and high school, I was selected as a teaching assistant for Chinese or English class every year. I am proficient in grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking and writing in both Chinese and English. My knowledge in linguistic origins and applications, as well as Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation and interpretation all evidence to be of great help for test preparation (e.g. HSK).

I have been speaking English since age 5, and I am experienced in learning second languages and preparing for proficiency tests like ESOL, TOEFL, GMAT, etc. I understand how to effectively approach a foreign language and improve overall speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. I myself speak fluent English, Chinese, some Japanese and Spanish.

I have flexible schedule and am open to students of all ages and levels. I will do my best to help you achieve your study goals!

Very smart and helpful instructor

Enjoyed working with Ivy; she was able to answer all of my questions related to Leveraged Buyout Modeling. Her knowledge of accounting is strong and we were able to efficiently cover all topics in 60 minutes.

Great tutor

I was really struggling with the pace of the finance class because there were so many concepts thrown at me in a short amount of time. Ivy really did a great job in helping me understand a lot of the nuances that get lost when you're in three eight hour finance classes. She made it all seem much simpler as we went through the questions topics. She's patient, kind, personable and never judges you when you're having a "duh" moment. Exceeded all of my expectations. Highly recommend!
