Upon receiving my Bachelor's degree in Education in 1993, I have been teaching in some capacity ever since. In 2006, I returned to school to earn my Masters of Education, I have worked as a teacher's aid with many diverse learners, as well as working as a full-time English as a Second Language Teacher for Chicago Public Schools for over five years. My title was Bilingual Lead Teacher. I was divided between two schools, Alexander Graham Bell, one of Chicago's top public schools and Joseph Stockton. Due to schools closings, I was displaced and rather than returning to work as a full-time teacher, I accepted the arrangement offered to me as a District Wide Cadre. As a District Wide Cadre (AKA substitute), I am always in high demand with some of Chicago Public Schools best schools. I am well versed in all Elementary Education subjects and feel comfortable teaching students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Depending on the subject, I am also comfortable with grades nine through twelve.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
