Over the last two and a half years, I have had the opportunity to educate Chicago's youth. My experience has taught me the importance of building strong mathematical foundations within my students. I have developed my skills as an educator by working in two different Chicago Public High Schools. In addition to my classroom experience where I usually deal with small groups or whole classes, I have stayed after regular class hours to help struggling students. I feel confident in my ability to address students' individual learning needs in a one-on-one setting and look forward to meeting you and your child.

Throughout my coursework at Northeastern Illinois University I have had the opportunity to conduct my clinical experience with 8th graders at a Chicago Public Elementary School. I have carried out several full lessons on scientific notation, linear equations, and systems of equations. My student teaching experience at Noble Street College Prep was also conducted in a Chicago Public School, where I taught four freshmen algebra classes. Noble is a charter school, which means that in addition to following CPS rules, they have their own guidelines to promote a rigorous classroom.

Because of my placement in my clinical and student teaching experience, I feel I am well-rounded and confident in my ability to tutor students of all backgrounds. Though I specialize in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1, I welcome the opportunity to tutor other realms of mathematics such as geometry and statistics.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Michael is helping my son prepare for his Algebra Exit Exam. My son is already starting to feel confident after one session with Michael. We have already booked for the next couple of weeks.

Excellent tutor

After trying to find a tutor that specialized in Math, I came across Michael's profile. Not only is he studying to become a future Math professor, but he has been very down to earth and easy to communicate with through email, text, and phone. I'm glad I made the right choice in picking him as my tutor because in such little time he was able to teach me a lot of algebra and geometry concepts that will come in handy when I take my A.C.T exam. He has also been available to meet me at various locations and times and that has been very helpful. Looking forward to meeting up with him again.
