I am a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I graduated with a degree in the teaching of English and a minor in music. At UIC, I worked with freshmen through graduate students in the writing center. I communicated with students to improve organization and editing skills, cite resources, develop ideas, and think about audience expectations. I also student taught 10th grade English this past semester. In addition, I have tutored for all subjects of the ACT through a nonprofit organization. I have also tutored for two private tutoring companies.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
