About Mia

Hello potential students! I am an elementary school teacher in Chicago Public Schools and enjoy working with students one-on-one. I currently teach 8th grade special education on the north side of Chicago. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with students, in home, developing educational plans and enrichment activities. I have experience teaching math (including algebra 1 and geometry), reading, science, and social studies (elementary grades K-8) and also pre-school readiness (reading skills, phonic, number recognition). I enjoy meeting new students and families and look forward to working with students to meet his or her goals! I currently write Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and conduct Funcational Behavior Assessments (FBAs). I track data and develop individualized goals for students as well. Hello potential students! I am an elementary school teacher in Chicago Public Schools and enjoy working with students one-on-one. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
