Through my experience graduating with a bachelor's degree in spanish and sociology from Howard University, working as a K-12 Spanish teacher for the past three years, and my graduate studies in the World Language Education-Spanish Program at DePaul University, I can confidently say that I am fully capable of being the Spanish tutor that will help bring success to the student. My experience as a full time Spanish teacher at St. Ferdinand Catholic School and Notre Dame High School for Girls has allowed me to work with students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I have also taught different levels, from Spanish 1 through AP Spanish for the past three years.
Teaching has become my life and I know I have a lot to offer students. I have always had excellent relationships with all of my students from K-12. I truly enjoy teaching Spanish to my students and I would like to help my students become as close to fluent as possible. I really believe that I will be an invaluable tutor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I taught high school level Criminal Justice (elective) at Notre Dame High School for Girls and I was a Criminal Justice major in college. I also graduated with a minor in Sociology in which I took a lot of Criminal Justice classes.
I played 4 years of varsity high school soccer and I played 2 years of NCAA Division 1 soccer (Howard University). I also coach varsity girls soccer at Notre Dame High School for Girls.
I taught High School level Sociology (elective) at Notre Dame High School for Girls. I also have a Sociology minor (BA) from Howard University.
