¡Hola! I am passionate about learning languages and being able to communicate with people from other cultures, and I would love to help you continue to grow in your love for the Spanish language! I studied Spanish in high school, college and as a study abroad student in Seville, Spain. Since then I have used my Spanish here in Chicago, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Mexico and South Korea! Everywhere you go, Spanish is one the most important languages to know and with dedication and implementing learning strategies, you too can speak and communicate well in Spanish! I have also studied Arabic, Korean and Italian and of these three, I am most proficient at conversational Arabic.
I am a certified Spanish teacher and have been teaching Spanish for 12 years. I have taught Spanish 1-4, Honors Spanish and International Baccalaureate Ab initio Spanish (taught in international schools). I have taught in the Chicagoland area, in South Korea at Taejon Christian International School and in Jordan, at The International Academy-Amman. I customize instruction to the learning needs of each student--reading, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing and listening. I believe that music, visuals, gestures, games and videos are really important in learning, so as long as I know what you would like to work on, I can prepare to incorporate these strategies into our time together.
Please contact me to set up an appointment or if you would like to know more about my experience. Note that if you set up an appointment and need to cancel for some reason, please contact me 12 hours prior to the appointment time in order to not be charged the tutor fee. Thank you so much and I look forward to helping you improve your Spanish! ¡Hola! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
