Bio

I currently work as an educational administrator for a local university and as a personal tutor. My most recent teaching position was as an adjunct instructor teaching the Student Success Seminar for a small nursing school. I have taught at a number of premier charter schools in Chicago and served as an associate dean of students and teacher for twelve years at a private college preparatory school in Houston.

Currently, I hold an Illinois teaching certificate in social studies with eight endorsements including world history, American history, European history, geography, sociology, economics, government/civics, and secondary education.

The majority of my teaching experiences is in the social sciences and science. Courses I have taught include: Advanced Placement U. S. History NREMT Courses
World History (Honors, Modern, and Ancient) Basic Chemistry
American Government & Politics Biology
Basic Macro and Micro Economics Reading & Writing
Human & Physical Geography Speech & Communications

I have also been a proctor for the HSPT, PLAN, SAT and ACT exams over the last fifteen years.

During my tenure at St. Pius X High School I was the boys' head soccer coach and assistant varsity baseball coach and from 2012-2014 I was an Associate Dean of Students. My teaching career started while I was in the United States Air Force, where I taught survival school, self-aid/buddy care, and Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured (a college level EMT course for National Certification).

We discussed a plan for an upcoming class, including study tips, Wyzant tools & staying organized. Jason was very thorough & asked specific questions about the class, the teacher, past assignments & goals. He has a strong background in the course materials & offered suggestions for how to prep for the class. Very helpful & easy to talk to.
