Brown University (Modern Culture and Media)
I am a recent graduate of Brown University where I double concentrated in Modern Culture and Media and the History of Art and Architecture. I am passionate about helping students succeed and mentoring youth. I spent this past summer as a Residential Advisor for the Summer@Brown pre-college programs where I ran weekly workshops, mentored students in my unit, and worked to provide a safe, fun, learning environment. I also worked as a Teaching Counselor for Trinity Repertory Company's Young Actors Summer Institute where I taught a 5th-7th grade scene study class to help my students grow as actors, and co-taught classes on staged reading, directing, party planning, and theatre for social change.
I have been a freelance tutor for several years, tutoring my peers in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, English (9th grade- college; including editing papers and reports), as well as Latin I, II, & II, and AP World History, AP US History, AP European History, and AP Government. I am most interested in working with students on their writing and reading abilities both for their academic coursework as well as for ACT & SAT preparation, but I am also excited about helping students in their math, social studies, and science coursework. If there is a subject marked on my profile then I full-heartedly believe that I am more than qualified to tutor on the subject and would be willing to put in as much time, energy, and resources to help the student excel in whatever capacity they may be having difficulty. I am available nights and weekends. I am a recent graduate of Brown University where I double concentrated in Modern Culture and Media and the History of Art and Architecture. I am passionate about helping

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
