I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese language and culture for 7 years. I have been backwards designing my curriculum and thematic units for 350 Pre-K to 8th graders. All units and plans meet State, National Foreign Language, and Common Core Standards. All plans and lessons include formative and summative assessments. I also have a Masters Degree in Teaching, a Masters Degree in School Leadership, ESL certification, and am also certified in the State of Illinois to teach Mandarin for PreK to 9th grade!
I teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking with many hands on, engaging, fun activities. I have also run my own Saturday School for Chinese language learning. I travel to China at least once per year and love to use tons of technology when I teach. I am nice to be around and can help your child learn Mandarin Chinese, particularly if they are struggling or need support!

Yes, I have my ESL certification. I just finished taking 18 graduate credit hours at Northeastern University.
I have been teaching full-time for the past 8 years. I started, run, and sustain our Chinese Language and Culture Program. I also write the assessments used to evaluate over 700 world language teachers and their teaching. I love being around students and working with them on a daily basis. They enjoy being around me as well. I connect well with them and make the learning fun.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have my Type 75 Masters degree in School Leadership, Type 03 Masters degree in Elementary Education, Mandarin Chinese Endorsement for K-9th grade, ESL Endorsement for K-9th grade. I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese Language and Culture full-time for the past 7 years for Chicago Public Schools. I have also run my own Chinese Saturday School.
