About Laura

I have been sewing since the age of 8. I was taught by my mother. In the intervening years I have been certified as a Trained Sewing Educator and a Certified Islander Sewing Systems Instructor.

I teach all levels of sewing from novice to advanced using factory-based techniques so your garments never look "homemade." My garments have won many accolades in competitions and county fairs. My work experience includes working with and learning from Connie Crawford and with the American Sewing Expo.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
