I want to first commend you all for taking the initiative to better yourself, and more importantly, taking responsibility for your education and the necessary steps toward fulfilling your future career. I grew up in Chicago and had spent most of my life there where I went to school and developed my academic skills. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor Degree in Biology in 2007 and continued my academic pursuit at Northeastern Illinois University where I received my Master Degree of Science in Biology in 2011. Academically, I have a strong background in the sciences i.e. biology, anatomy, physiology, math, and physics. I have experiences in tutoring students from grade school to undergraduate college. In my professional experience, I had worked at a medical and currently at a dental facility for a combine of 10+ years.
When it comes to tutoring, I prefer a Socrates approach, which facilitates discussion and exchanges of ideas between the tutor and the student. I believe that this way the student will be more engaged in the subject and will overall enhance his or her learning experience. Aside from academic assistance, I can also draw from my own personal experience to help students with planning their career path, especially in the health care field. I am also a motivated and dedicated learner and still consider myself as a student no matter where I am. I hope to instill the spirit of academia in all of you and I look forward to working with you in the near future. Wish you all the very best! Tri has been helping our 9th grader go from an F on her last algebra test to a high B on the next test. He's very patient and is able to communicate with her in a way that she is finding easy to grasp. We really appreciate his efforts and understanding of the areas she needs to work on and his ability to show her methods that make sense to her.
Very patient and knowledgeable on the studies of every grade level. Able to assess the needs of my children accurately. Thank you!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
