About Saba

Hello,

My name is Saba A. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education with Middle School Endorsements in Language Arts and Social Sciences. I have a Type 03 Teaching License given by the state of Illinois. I graduated in 2009 from Northern Illinois University. I grew up in Naperville and also taught there for a couple of years before moving to downtown with my husband. I am currently a 3rd-grade teacher at a CPS and IB School. I strongly believe in building a relationship with students one-on-one for them to succeed at their fullest potential and that's why I enjoy tutoring after teaching my students to work collaboratively during the school day. My philosophy of education includes children asking and thinking of high order questions, being challenged, and having rigorous and problem-solving assignments and assessments to measure growth in a non-stressful and caring environment. I am highly skilled in various curriculums and implement many hands-on and thinking strategies towards Math and Reading areas specifically.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
