About Randy

Hello, my name is Randy R. and as you can see by my resume, I am a CPA. I have been teaching/tutoring/coaching accounting for many years. I live in Portage Park area of Chicago and have clients all over the Chicago area. I am seeking accounting students and clients that need help and assistance with all levels of accounting including auditing, managerial/financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, business modeling and organizational management and preparation for their CPA, and Series 3 Nasdaq licenses.

I presently perform organizational management, financial, accounting consulting engagements. I tutor because I enjoy helping accounting students/clients excel in their courses and understanding of accounting and financial markets at alll levels.

I started tutoring college students and individuals studying for their CPA examination when I was in Chicago on my organizational management and financial consulting practice. At that time, I was living in Seattle and had three major centers of business practice (Seattle where a majority of my family still lives; Chicago where our son lives and Baltimore where I had several clients). I expanded tutoring to Seattle before we moved to Chicago to be close to our son. I now tutor primarily in the Chicago area and consult across the country.

My Big "4" CPA accounting experience focused on auditing, individual taxations and on-site organizational management and profitability engagements. The Big 4 CPA experience was followed by joining a very large regional CPA office where we focused on auditing, write up work, organizational management engagements including profitability analysis, enhancement projects and individual and company tax returns and planning.

I have evaluated, trained and hired accounting and management personnel at all levels in many organizations across the country including controllers and chief financial officers. I have extensive hands on experiences with many industries including software, database design/implementation, not for profit, banking, mortgage banking, real estate, residential/commercial building including land development, collections, securities/trading, NASDQ series 7, 3 and 63 licensing and more. My prior consulting experience covers individuals up to companies generating $50MM in annual sales.

I am an excellent tutor, teacher, coach and consultant. I will be happy to assist you achieve your goals in any of your accounting related courses.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Accounting

I graduated with my BA degree in accounting Magna Cum Laude at the University of Puget Sound before attending Seattle University for my MBA studies. I was only one of three students from a class of 65 accounting majors to be hired by the big four international CPA accounting offices. Using my CPA certificate and acquired consulting talents, I have hired and trained all levels of accounting and bookkeeping personnel along with several controllers and chief financial officers for my clients over the years. I am an excellent teacher and coach specializing in CRM (client relationship management) software programs and all levels of training accounting, record keepers and finance personnel. Along with my CPA certification, I have held NASDQ 3, 7 and 63 series licenses allowing me to account for, trade and manage all types of securities, options and future contracts and instruments.

Very polite and knowledgable — He taught me FIFO and LIFO and also helped me with an assignment. He explains things way more clearly and in an easier matter. If you don't understand something, he will re- explain it until you get it and provides a lot of examples for you to do. He also shows up with helpful handouts for you to keep and take with you. ...
