Through experience mentoring high school students in the Chicago Architecture Foundation as well as tutoring about the Coptic Egyptian language, it became clearer that students respond best to an interactive introduction as well as drawing precedents from familiar cultural references. Such unorthodox methods help the information abide in the student's mind more readily than a purely textbook academic approach.
I was captain of the Math Team for a year, and over the whole three-year involvement in the Math Team, I have received numerous awards including First Place in the Two-Person Team Competition and First Place in the Written Competition.
I am a proficient writer with frequent contributions to publications such as the newsletter for iitAIAS (my architectural student organization).

My daughter felt so much more confident after a math tutoring session with Martin yesterday. Martin was able to explain things in a way my daughter could understand. She also said she had a lot of fun. While I was not directly involved in the tutoring, I will say Martin had a wonderful and respectful disposition. He was very professional and responded to my request within an hour. As a parent, I couldn’t have asked for better. Thank you!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
