My mission is to inspire and support students to reach their potential. I am a certified elementary teacher with experience teaching all subjects in English, and to bi-lingual and TESL students in grades K-6. With Chicago Foundation for Education and Donors Choose Grants, I was able to introduce photography into the classroom, make robots, purchase science equipment, and ballroom dance outfits.
I have taught computer skills in grades 1-5, including Word, PowerPoint and beginning Adobe Photoshop and Pinnacle Video. Since retiring, I have concentrated in teaching math, language arts, and currently teach beginning chess. My students won 2nd place in the first CPS Elementary School Chicago Ballroom Dance competition. My beginning chess student, age 5, won 1st place in a Chicago chess competition.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been using Adobe Photoshop and Premiere for over 10 years. I currently make interview presentation slideshows and videos.

I taught Ballroom and Salsa Dancing at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Niles, IL. For two years, as a Chicago classroom teacher, I taught my 5th grade students ballroom and salsa dance routines for competition in the first annual Having a Ball program. My students came in 2nd place, Silver Standing, in the the City of Chicago.
I am a certified ESL teacher and have taught for over 35 years in grade levels K to 7 and adults of all ages.
I am a retired World Language teacher. I taught TESL students in elementary and middle school and adults for the Chicago City College. The students came from various Latin, European, and Asian countries.
