Kenyon College (Film)
Hey there! My name is Wyn E., and I'm 22 years old. I just moved to Chicago from Ohio, where I attended Kenyon College, a private liberal arts college. I moved to Chicago to pursue my dream of being a professional comedian and improviser. While at Kenyon, I majored in Drama, then switched to Film my Junior year. Kenyon is renowned for its English department, but every department emphasizes writing well. I am very confident in my writing and English skills, and I can help you or your child become more confident in your abilities.
While I am open to tutoring people of all ages, I am most passionate and qualified to work with children. My mother is a kindergarten teacher at my old elementary school, and I definitely share her enthusiasm for teaching young people. If your child needs help in spelling, grammar, or vocabulary, I'm the guy for the job. I have worked with children in Mount Vernon, Ohio, a city near where I went to school, and tutored them in basic math, science, and English skills.
In addition to tutoring, I have also given guitar lessons in the past to children in my hometown during the summers. I have been playing guitar for more than a decade, and I want to share my love for the instrument with my students. Many guitar lessons feel more like work than play, but I emphasize having fun in addition to improving technical facility and musicianship. My first priority as a guitar instructor is to show my students that guitar playing can be anything you want it to be, not just what you see in lesson books.
I hope to work with you soon!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I recently graduated from Kenyon College with a BA in film. In my last year at Kenyon, I concentrated solely on film studies. I am knowledgeable in the basics of filmmaking, screenwriting, directing, and producing. I have experience as an actor, director, and editor.
I have played guitar for over a decade. I have taught children in my neighborhood the basics of the instrument over my summers. In addition to learning new techniques and songs, I emphasize having fun as much as possible. Possible areas of study: learning basic songs, chords, and scales; basic music theory; and improvisation.
I have been participating in theatrical productions since high school, where I both acted in mainstage shows and directed my own casts in our annual one-act play festival. In college, I was a member of the campus improv troupe, which I also lead my senior year. I have taken, and am currently taking classes at several major Chicago improv institutions, and am very passionate about the art of improv. Before I was a Film major, I was a Drama major, so I am also quite comfortable with the fundamentals of traditional theatrical productions.
During my senior year of college, I worked as an assistant videographer for my college's Public Affairs office. I aided Public affairs in many aspects of their video productions. My duties included brainstorming, script generation, shooting footage, recording sound, and editing. I also self-produced my senior thesis film, serving as director, principle actor, and editor.
