Bonjour! ¡Hola! My name is Timothy, and I am a passionate and committed language teacher in the Chicagoland area. My energetic and unique approaches to language learning are sure to bring you fast results and new-found confidence in the languages you are studying! I have lived and studied in many countries where both French and Spanish are spoken, resulting in a very diverse skill set in each language. I am fluent in French, and speak and teach the Parisian dialect (the most commonly taught in the USA), but also have knowledge of Canadian French and Haitian Creole. In Spanish, I am fluent in the standard American dialect, but have studied and communicated often in Spanish, Puerto Rican, and Mexican dialects. My first language is American English, and I teach English with a standard American accent. I have dedicated my life to studying languages, and am excited to share my knowledge with you! I have earned a Master's degree in language education, along with a certification to teach K-12 French and Spanish in the state of Illinois, two certificates of language study from la Sorbonne in Paris, France, and a certificate of advanced study from the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago. I have had very diverse experiences in the field of education, ranging from 5th grade public school teaching to Adult ESL classes for a nonprofit organization. I also have experience at the secondary and university levels, including semi-private and one-on-one tutoring sessions. I eagerly await your response so that we can set up a consultation for your language learning needs! Whether you're traveling to Cancún, studying abroad in Brussels, or just need some help passing your language course - we can work together to design a creative plan to accomplish your goals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
