I am an experienced tutor and curriculum designer based in Chicago. Prior to developing content for IXL Learning, a leading education technology product, I received my B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame with a minor in PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) and graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors. I received my Master's degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Cambridge, where I was funded by a Gates Cambridge Scholarship — a competitive international scholarship awarded to 90 students from around the world each year. I performed research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and received funding for my work.

While I teach a variety of subjects, I specialize in creative and persuasive writing, grammar, verbal reasoning, analytical reading, and study/research skills. I also specialize in test prep for the ACT, SAT, GED, and GRE. My academic studies focused heavily on research and analytical reading/writing, and my professional work has focused on writing and designing lessons that communicate complex concepts to younger students and non-specialist audiences. As the oldest of 11 children and a former full-time volunteer at a shelter for displaced families in South Chicago, I have have extensive experience working with children and adults of a variety of ages and backgrounds. I particularly enjoy working on developing foundational reading and writing skills with younger students, forming study habits and time management skills necessary for college-level courses with young-adult students, and designing learning plans to meet personal and professional goals with my adult students.

Outside of my work, I am also a creator who enjoys music, creative writing, and comedy. I occasionally teach guitar, drum, music production, and creative writing lessons.

My pedagogical approach emphasizes identifying each student's learning style and designing learning plans that feel engaging and non-repetitive. I enjoy breaking down barriers to comprehension and finding each student's unique path to success by developing lesson plans that suited to each of my student's unique learning needs and aspirations.

I look forward to working with you soon!
