My son had a very positive experience with Pete. He learned new ways to complete complicated math problems that made it easier for my son. We have another appointment already scheduled.
Pete had our child with ADHD sitting still, focused on math, for the entire hour. Truly amazing. In this first lesson, he covered a variety of material to assess her knowledge and asked personalized questions to identify her strengths and weaknesses. He will be invaluable in assisting our child.
Pete has the patience and the competence to teach the subject matter. I have chosen him because he surely could help me and provide me everything that I need from a tutor.
He taught me algebra 1. He is patient and goes step by step. He helped me understand every chapter in Algebra 1.
Pete was such a great help to me, really patient and kind. I have had math issues all my life and he was willing to spend the time going over things (sometimes again and again) until I really got it. I would recommend him to ANYONE who needs extra help with numbers. He was always prepared with answer keys to the problems I emailed him in advance and gave them to me at the end so that I could go over them on my own as well. The only sticky issue with Pete is that when he and I worked together, he didn't have a cell phone so there was no opportunity for last minute communication. I don't know if this has changed, but as long as you're the kind of person who doesn't mind planning ahead, you won't have a problem.
I was very fortunate to find Pete P. in the list of tutors offered by WyzAnt and I say "fortunate" because he is a tutor who has true passion for teaching. He helped my daughter a lot to prepare her for the Algebra and Math college admission tests. His hourly rates are extremely affordable and that helped me a lot to provide several tutoring time for my daughter, otherwise I would have been able to afford just a few hours.
Pete is a retired teacher from one of the top high schools in Chicago and you can tell he does this because of his love of teaching, not for the money, but he is definitely worth 10 times what he asks for. My daughter loved having classes with him and was looking forward to the next class. Thank you WyzAnt for bringing Pete and us together!!!
Pete P. is one of the most patience tutors I've ever encountered. His work with me has given me the confidence I lacked last semester. I thank God and your company that has given to me the skills and building blocks to my future.
Difficult material. Pete knew it all. Timely, with
lots of guidance and corrections when needed. Nice job. Good experience and good session.
Pete has been tutoring my son in math and he has been wonderful. My son has huge issues with math anxiety and Pete's patient manner has worked wonders. A+++
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
