“**Extraordinary Tutor**”

Through years of tutoring during my college days, and years of being a coach and mentor during my professional career, I learned that understanding the basic concept is much more important than just knowing how to solve a particular problem. Once you have a grasp of the basic concept and gain the insight, you not only improve your scores and

Dr. C. is a truly extraordinary tutor. It is rare that someone with his level of expertise is willing to work as a part-time tutor. If you are interested in help in math, chemistry or physics, I can't imagine that there is a better resource in Chicago than Dr. C. Not only does Dr. C. have great subject matter expertise and the capacity to explain his knowledge clearly, but he is also incredibly kind and patient.

I could not find a more deserving student than you are. It was my privilege to work with you.

Brian is a great tutor who I would recommend to everyone on Wyzant. He tutored me for the SAT Math 2 Subject Test. When I started studying, I was having trouble with main topics of the test and couldn't figure it out on my own. After meeting with Brian once a week for about 1-1.5 hours for 2 months, I was able to not only learn new things about precalculus, algebra 2, and calculus that I can use in school and college, but also raised my score from around a 700-720 to 780. He is very patient and made sure that I understood each thing we went through every lesson. When I had trouble, we stopped and he helped me understand why the answer was correct, but also changed my thinking perspective on these particular problems. I felt that the whole tutoring process was very personalized and we were going through things that I was having trouble with particularly, rather than going through the major topics on a specific tests like most tutoring classes or books do. Brian is one of the best tutors I have had, I learned so much, and I would recommend him to everyone I know. Although I am finished with standardized testing and the SAT, I will definitely ask for help with other tests or math problems in the future.

Congrats! Emily, for getting such an awesome score. You worked diligently for it and deserve every points of it. I am so happy as your tutor.

Brian was very knowledgeable and good at asking questions. His explanations are sometimes too drawn out. He is interesting in trying to help you learn.

Thanks, Eric for your valuable feedback. I should take heed of it.

Brian has an amazing grasp of the material that he is then able to effectively help you learn. I am excited to continue working with him as we work towards improving my gmat score both fundamentals and strategies

I am excited to have a highly motivated and intelligent person like you as a partner in the pursue of awesome scores in GMAT

Helped clear up 4 sections of precalculus and 1 section of physics in an hour with brilliant teaching methods and helped clear up many of the troubles I had. So helpful and so bright!!

Thanks for the feedback. Such a joy to help a promising young man

Brian is a wonderful teacher. He really wants you to understand what you are doing and takes his time to show you in a practical and realistic way. I am currently getting my MBA and am in a business statistics and calculus class. I am extremely impressed with his vast knowledge of these subjects and will definitely continue tutoring with him for the rest of the quarter!

It is a joy to work with you, a quick and serious learner. Thanks for the opportunity to be your partner in your pursue of excellence.

Dr. C. tutored me in Statistics. He was patient and professional throughout the session. Also, I appreciate that he challenged my critical thinking skills. I would highly recommend him and his services to anyone I meet.

I appreciate your feedback. All the best with your MBA program!

Brian helped me with precalculus. We talked about vectors and their formulas, and he was very helpful in explaining the fundamental concepts.

Brian was encouraging and understanding and works with you to find a way to understand the material that works for you.

Brian was exceptionally skilled, extremely patient and unquestionably reliable. His ability to navigate a semester long college Statistics class in a condensed summer term was amazing. We cannot recommend him highly enough.

I remember when I first needed a tutor, I hated the idea of having a tutor. Mainly because most tutors I was used to were students who took the class before but didn't really know it all that well.

First lesson, I came out blown away. Brian is super smart and that is an understatement. But it is not his smarts that helped me, its his ability to connect and really understand how you process math and be able to teach how you would best learn it.

I had another friend take him and he says the same thing.

Brian is patient, caring, super smart, and overall a great person to know.

Looking back at my college career, I'm so glad I took him for Calculus, Stats and finite math.

I always find it unbelievable when people talk about their grades jumping BUT I actually got a D on my first Calculus test at UIC and freaked out and with Brian's help I ended up getting an A in the course but that's because Brian helped me so much!

Thanks Brian!!!

It was my privilege and my pleasure in helping such an eager learner and deserving person. All the best luck in your new job. I have no doubt you will go places.

Brian C. has been an excellent tutor for my son who is taking advanced physics in college. He is patient and flexible, and my son finds his explanations of difficult material to be very clear. Brian has found a way to make himself available whenever my son needs help. He is awesome!

Brian is a wonderful tutor. He's easy to reach, and was always available to discuss our session. What I like about Brian is his patience. I'm very very bad at Math, and Brian showed me some tools that I could remember for a lifetime. I applaud Brian for working with me considering that I need a lot of help, and a lot of practice. I look forward to working with Brian for more sessions. I can honestly say I feel a little more confident and I have hope that I can understand Math, which was something I struggled with my whole life. Thank you, Brian, for being patient with me, and helping me understand.

Brian C. showed a great understanding for business statistics and was extremely helpful. I highly recommend him to anyone!

It was a pleasure helping you, Ryan.

My experience with Brian was outstanding. What really stands out is his ability to truly teach the material. All communication was prompt and he was on time and came prepared. Highly recommended and worth the investment!

The subject was Statistics, which is a fun and familiar subject to me. It was a joy to help you, Barry!

Brian is an amazing tutor who is that rare teacher with exceptional credentials and experience who can explain/tutor complex subjects like AP Physics B. My daughter needed some clarity in this subject and was impressed because he not only could explain it to her but was also able to draw illustrations so that she could see the connection visually. Thanks to Brian's encouragement and patience she ended up with an A for the semester.

Brian was a great asset to our son. I feel that our son has gained so much knowledge and insight from Brian. I would recommend him highly to others. My student is attending the University of Illinois and had Brian tutor him over his break so he would be really prepared for what is ahead. Brian is so easy to work with and the ease of that along with his knowledge and professionalism he is great!!!

I met with Brian a couple of times to prepare for an exam. His schedule allowed us to meet downtown during the day (during my lunch). He went through some problems with me and was able to explain the areas where I was having difficulty. I felt comfortable asking questions and he was patient when we had to review concepts more than once. Thanks Brian!

Dr C really knows how to communicate complex Physics concepts and help the student learn through a patient style approach to transmitting knowledge.

my son loves working with Brian! Brian is patient and kind, and presents the materials in a way my son can understand. Brian always comes prepared with the curricular materials my son needs. And best of all- he has shown immediate results- after only 3 lessons, my son scored a 90% on his math test!

Brian was super knowledgeable of the topics covered and even prepared materials at home without charging for that time. Very accommodating of the student's needs. I highly recommend Brian to anyone!!!!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

The ACT test is an important test for you to get into a good college. I will help you to pick preparatory material and help you to study and drill on the ACT quiz. I will explain the wrong answers you get and help you to understand why you are wrong. With firm understanding of the concept and with practice, you will steadily improve your ACT test scores.

Since the ACT is a test on all basic math, you need a tutor who understand the entire spectrum of math. With my Ph.D. in theoretical physics, I know all aspects of math to help you understand all important math concepts in the ACT test.

Algebra 2 is an important foundation for calculus. Therefore, it is essential to understand the concepts in both Algebra 1 and 2. Once you understand the concepts and with the help of a few drills, you will master algebra 2 and go on to pre-calculus with ease and interest.

Having a solid foundation in calculus is important for doing well in science and engineering later on. Therefore, it is very important to understand the concepts in calculus. Once you understand the concepts and with the help of a few drills, you will master the subject. When facing with new problems in the future, you could always figure it out using the concepts and techniques learned in calculus.

I will explain the concepts in different ways and from different angles to help you grasp them. I earned my Ph.D. in Physics from U. Notre Dame and understand all aspects of applied mathematics.

My time is flexible and I am patient. I view your success and failure as mine. I don't accept failure, neither should you!

I am a Ph.D. theoretical physicist from Notre Dame. I know all areas of applied math (some abstract math as well) including calculus, statistics and differential equations. In fact, most physics problems involves solving differential equations, such as Schrodinger wave equation in Quantum Mechanics or or Navier Stokes equation for fluid mechanics. For my Ph.D. thesis, I had to invent some new ways of solving differential equations in the field of Quantum Electrodynamics. Therefore, math is in my blood. I read and solve all kinds of math for hobby. I usually tutor differential equation using an excellent textbook by Nagle, Saff, and Snider "Fundamentals of Differential Equations" Eighth Edition.

Finance is all about teaching the fundamental concepts used in the modern financial world, including time value of money, various investment instruments (bonds, stocks, and derivatives), capital structure, economics and portfolio management.

I have taken MBA classes at the University of Chicago for two years. I can help you with many concepts of finance.

Geometry is a fun subject. It has a lot of applications in real daily life. We will continue to drill on practice problems and I will point out the mistakes you have made and explain the correct ways of thinking about and solving the problem. Over time, you will steadily improve your scores with discipline and practice.

Physics is often more difficult than math. It requires some insights into the law of physics. You could acquire these insights either by yourself with some serious thinking and considerable amount of time or someone could give you hints and point you to the right direction. That is when a physicist can help you with.

Once you gain that insight, the Ah-ha moment will come and the joy of learning physics will be with you.

I am here to help you with that insight and with some drills.

Having a solid foundation in pre-calculus is important for doing well in calculus. Therefore, it is very important to understand the concepts in pre-calculus. Once you understand the concepts and with the help of a few drills, you will master both subjects.

Probability is a fun subject. It has a lot of beneficial applications in real life. Therefore, besides helping you with theorem to understand the concepts, I will give many practical examples to help you to apply and remember them. Once you understand the concepts and with the help of a few drills, it becomes natural for you to think of many events in probabilistic way.
