About Brian

I have taught elementary and middle school science for the past ten years. I was a pre-med major for 1/2 of college so I have taken Organic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology and more. I tutored students in reading during college. I enjoy any type of logic puzzles for pleasure and as a tool for teaching. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught science and technology to 1st and 2nd graders for 9 years. I have also worked with 3-5th graders in after school programs and occasional class coverage for the same amount of time.

Study Skills

I taught a study skills class to 8th graders for 1 year. I have been teaching science to 1st and 2nd graders for 9 years. Science involves a variety of skills; reading comprehension , memorization techniques, organization, writing, etc.
