After taking the GMAT once I was very disappointed with my Quant score. I studied hours upon hours on my own and no matter what I did I could not raise my Quant score. Exhausted and frustrated I decided it was time to find a tutor as a last ditch effort. Upon beginning with John he immediately uncovered my weaknesses and made what once seemed impossible subjects (coordinate geometry, word problems, rate problems) digestible and easy to understand. After leaving every session I felt motivated and inspired because I was finally seeing improvement. All said and done upon retaking the exam my quant score improved drastically, going up by over 10 percentile points.

John has been very helpful so far in expanding my knowledge and teaching me new ways to approach and solve problems

John is a fantastic tutor. In two months, he raised my score from a 600 to a 700 on the GMAT. He creates content that is personalized for your needs, and pushes you to reach your highest potential. There is absolutely no way I would've done well on the GMAT if it weren't for John. I HIGHLY recommend him!

John is a great tutor. He didn't make me feel bad for going slowly and asking questions, and he make sure that I understand the MATH, not just a solving trick, before moving on.

My high school junior son absolutely loves working with John. He looks forward to each session and his scores have improved dramatically. Not sure how he does it but John has actually made ACT prep enjoyable for my son. Imagine that! I highly recommend him!

I worked with John to prep for GMAT. He was very thorough and customized a work plan to my (many) deficiencies. His advanced degrees in math provide him a tremendous foundation to explain complex math topics in a very basic, easy to understand way. HIRE JOHN!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I've been tutoring test prep for 15 years, and I have a lot of experience helping students get the score they need on the ACT. I've helped students push past the 30 mark, or just bring up one part of their score to push up their overall score.

In the past 5 years, I've written proprietary guides on ACT strategy for local companies. These guides have been used to improve scores all over the midwest.

The Math section of the ACT can be difficult for many reasons. I help students by making sure that they get questions that they have "earned" through years of study in high school. I also can teach them things they don't know with just enough detail to allow them to apply the material on the exam, and I can re-teach them material they may have forgotten.

Science Reasoning is one of the most difficult sections of the ACT. Proper time management and attention to detail are the keys to a high score. This requires effortful engagement with the material and some open mindedness on the part of the student. The tutors job is the provide the student with the strategies that will help them overcome an obstacles. I done this with dozens of students.

I have taught Algebra 1 in a high school and at Indiana University. I think that I can persuade any student that math is not only interesting and fun, but beautiful as well.

I have taken two semesters of undergraduate differential equations as well as 1 semester of ODE's (ordinary differential equations) and elementary PDE's (partial differential equations) in graduate school. I have tutored ODE's for multiple students. I am familiar with all standard solution methods used in undergraduate curricula.

I have taught basic discrete/finite math (probability, combinatorics, naive set theory, basic linear algebra, linear programming) at the college level. I also wrote a study guide covering all the above topics. Used copies of the study guide are still available on amazon.com.

In addition I have taking 12 hours of graduate level mathematical computer science, incuding combinatorics, advanced combinatoric, and graph theory.

I've helped students push past the 700 mark, or just bring up one part of their score to push up their overall score. Many of my students have gone to Kellog or Booth to get their MBA's. I can provide references and testimonials. I've worked for several big box test prep companies, and I have a 99% score.

I've been tutoring test prep for 15 years, and I have a lot of experience helping students get the score they need on the GRE. I've helped students push past their goal scores in both the Quant and Verbal. I took the revised version of the GRE the first day it was offered and I scored a 170 on the Quant and a 168 on Verbal. I've helped design GRE apps for Android and IOS operating systems, and I revised the content of online GRE study tools to reflect the new structure of the exam.

I have taught Trigonometry in a high school and at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I think that I can persuade any student that math is not only interesting and fun, but beautiful as well.
