I write a nationally syndicated workplace advice column and teach writing at two local colleges. I may be more expensive than other tutors, but I am among the best writing teachers/private tutors you will ever have. My writing ability ranges from business to creative to features to public relations and advertising. I excel at writing resume, cover letters, and college admission essays.
I have received stellar evaluations from both students and administration. I have worked with all levels of students, and I use many teaching methods so the student WILL LEARN regardless of his/her educational history.
Writing is an art and a science. I recognize raw talent and can help direct it; I also have worked with students with learning disabilities, and I will be honest about the student's ability to learn. Telling students they can do ANYTHING they want is wrong, because it sets them up for failure. I can't teach math; but if you want to write, I can teach you any style, any media.
I will adjust my fee if a student wants a series of tutoring appointments.

I charge more because my writing skills and teaching skills are at the top of the ladder. I also would never charge for time not worked, such as breaks, travel time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

If a student is undecided, I have administered assessment tests and counseled individuals to help find the path that best suits their skills and talents. I have also guided people through my syndicated column, At Work.
I have taught college English since 2001, specializing in grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and all aspects of writing compositions. I am also a syndicated workplace columnist whose editors all comment on my superior writing ability. If you need to improve your writing, I can help you.
