About Thomas

Succeeding on the LSAT is exceptionally important. Every point on the LSAT is worth $8,000-$10,000 in financial aid for you. It can be the difference between attending a top law school, and landing a high-paying ($180k+/year) legal job, or being stuck doing mindless document review ($40k/year).

Anyone can learn the LSAT if they work hard and study smart, and I can help you do that. My goal is for you not only to succeed on the LSAT, but to enjoy your studying. I enjoy teaching the LSAT and helping you feel comfortable as you learn to master the test. I focus on your best way of learning, and I teach in a low-stress, helpful way. Studying for the LSAT can be an enjoyable and challenging experience that improves your ability to think clearly, communicate persuasively, and prepare effectively for law school.

I have extensive experience teaching the LSAT and the credentials to prove it. The LSAT is the only thing I teach, and I have been teaching it for 3 years. Because of this, I am a now a 2L and Law Review staffer at the University of Chicago's Law School, one of the top 4 law schools in the country. I taught several of Blueprint's 100-hour, 40+ member LSAT classes and received great reviews. Several of my former students are now UChicago Law students with me. I received a 173 (99%) on the LSAT.

Prior to law school, I served as a college professor of philosophy for 4 years. I have a graduate degree in philosophy. I also received a perfect 6.0 (99%) Analytical Writing and 690 Verbal (95%) on the GRE.

My hobbies include triathlon, master's swimming, rock climbing, guitar, yoga, and traveling (18 countries and 40+ states).

I am also happy to provide law school application advice or review essays.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Another Great Session — Tom has been a great asset in my studies. He is really easy to work with, has flexible meeting times and knows how to cater his methods to learners of all levels. We have been going over logic games for the first two weeks and Tom has been extremely helpful in clarifying any problem areas I have encountered. ...
