I have had a good deal of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked in the U.S. and abroad in Eastern Europe and Mexico as an ESL (English as a second language) and French instructor. I have worked with students from all over the world in my capacity as an ESL teacher. With regards to French, I have taught at all grade levels and have tutored French and Spanish for both children and adults. With regards to education, I have a B.A. from the University of Michigan in French Lit and a Master of Education from DePaul University. I carry a valid teaching certificate for French and ESL. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
