In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned an MS in Business Administration / Technology Management from the University of Illinois in 2007. I had a 4.0 GPA, with approximately 50% As and 50% A+s. During this degree, I tutored one of my classmates in finance, accounting, and other topics.
I previously taught the MCAT for Kaplan test prep. I have two graduate degrees in engineering, giving me a very good background in chemistry and physics. I've taught English to native and non native speakers, and as part of half a dozen different standardized tests. I have considerable experience teaching English and physical science in other situations.
