“**Calming and thorough.**”

Hi, I'm Damon. I genuinely enjoy sharing my enthusiasm about math and view it as a mission to help improve math's reputation among the topics of study. I started tutoring as a math grad student working on my PhD, and continued on during and after my academic teaching. In many ways I prefer tutoring to teaching in a traditional classroom setting,

My son was nervous at first but Damon did a great job at working with my son's tempo of learning. We will definitely have another session again.

Quadratic equation in depth. My son was really pleased and felt satisfied. We will ask Damon to present some challenges to our son when Damon gets to know his understanding of math foundamentals.

Damon was amazingly helpful with my daughter's geometry. We will be seeking him out again when school starts in the fall.

Damon is great. Without a preview of the specific problems, he can cover any of my son's review sheets and really help him understand the material.

Damon is great! He covers the material in a manner that breaks it down so that I could understand.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I've tutored and taught Algebra 1 many times.

I have taught and tutored college level differential equations many times, helping students make sense of first-order equations, second-order linear equations, Laplace transforms, homogenous equations, and the like. Although there is a lot of material to keep track of in a typical first differential equations course, a solid background in calculus will go a long way toward success.

I have tutored and taught discrete math many times, and it's one of my favorite subjects.

Since my first undergraduate course in linear algebra, and on through graduate school, linear algebra has always been one of my favorite subjects. I have tutored many linear algebra students on the ins and outs of matrix arithmetic, Gauss-Jordan elimination, linear transformations and vector spaces. I have also taught several college linear algebra courses over the years.
