While employed as a lecturer at Assumption University in Thailand, an international university catered towards both local and international students, I have employed the theory of Multiple Intelligences in designing and executing engaging lesson plans. This ensures that students, regardless of their learning styles, are challenged but are still able to deeply understand the course content.
It is also my belief that learning should not only happen inside the classroom; rather, it must continue even beyond its walls. The use of social media such as Facebook and Line (a popular messaging application in Thailand) has been incorporated into my lessons to facilitate interaction and continuous learning among students and for them to understand that in-class lessons can be applied directly to practical, real-life situations.
Consequently, I have organized training programs for the university and coordinated with outside agencies ensuring that particular objectives are met. I have been a trainer myself to academic professionals all over Thailand. As we are dealing with professionals, programs are executed accordingly with the assurance that the content of the program itself is beneficial to the career development of the trainees.
I have also been granted memberships to several committees such as Quality Assurance Committee, Finance and Budgeting Committee, Thai Qualifications Framework and Student Activities Committee. My memberships to these committees have taught me the fundamentals of office operations and to ensure that all departmental activities are in favor of the demands of stakeholders while, at the same time, aligning them with the university goals.
