In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold a masters degree in Special Education, Learning Behavioral Specialist, Type 10. I have taught special education student for the past five years and this type of learning disability is one of the most common within our schools today. Many parents choose not to medicate their children and the teachers must find ways to adapted their learning style to fit that of all students within their classroom.
I hold a Learning Behavioral Specialist 1 and have over five years of experience teaching and tutoring special education students. My emphasis have been teaching Autistic middle school and high school students. The range of learning levels on the spectrum includes all levels of learners and their preferred learning styles are the best way to reach these students.
Working with multiple diagnosis is more the norm than only one diagnosis of learning disability. I find it challenging to assist all levels of learner with special needs.
I hold a Masters degree in Special Education with the emphasis on Reading, which includes 30 credit hours at this level. I have taught English Language Arts and Social Studies for grade levels 5th through 12th. English Language Arts is also one of my favorite subjects to teach. If my student cannot read or write proper English, their opportunities are extremely limited.
I hold a master's in special education, which includes 40 hours of reading instruction. My undergraduate degree is in social work and education.
