There is no greater joy for a teacher than seeing her students succeed in their field of interest. I have worked with students between the ages of 8 and 60. Getting to know so many different learning personalities and approaches has shaped me as a teacher as well.
I absolutely love tutoring because not only does the student get an extra concentration on their subject of choice but I know I have the ability to solidify and questions or gaps that may exist regarding a specific area of English or Spanish.
My favorite challenge is when multiple students prefer to be taught in a couple different approaches. This challenges myself because my mind is always on the go of how I can present the methodology to my student and keep them engaged at the same time. To me, learning has always been exciting and I promised myself that my students would always leave on a positive note.

I have taught English as a second language at The Language Company located on the campus of Texas Wesleyan University. I worked with students from level 1 all the way until College Prep. I specifically tutored students who were taking their English placement tests in order to be able to transfer to an American University.
I have been studying and speaking Spanish for the past 12 years. I started way back in 7th grade and never took a break since then. I received my minor in Spanish. I read, write and speak in Spanish. Many of the students that I worked with back in Texas were from South America and Spain.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
