I am Deaf and my first language is (ASL) American Sign Language. I teach ASL classes for community, families, education, and interpreters. I graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. with B.A. degree in Social work. Currently, I work with deaf/hard of hearing students as a substitute teacher and I take ASL club to teach students sign language. I bring a vast amount of knowledge about the language itself as well as knowledge of deaf culture and our own local deaf community. I am happy to help you to improve your ASL skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am fluent in American Sign Language and I believe it is important for deaf people to educate hearing people about the deaf community. Also, they are familiar with sign language and they do know how to teach hearing people what to sign. I love to teach people sign language and I have good resources to help them improving their signing skills. By the way, I am deaf and I work with deaf students as a substitute teacher.
