After two decades of teaching in public K-12 schools, she taught in the graduate schools of Gonzaga University and the University of Idaho. Dr. Susan serves as a consultant for parents, students, school districts, juvenile justice programs, churches, and other organizations. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I have over twenty years of experience working with students with learning disabilities including ADD/ADHD. I hold a Learning Handicapped Specialist Credential and have been involved in training other teachers in this area. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education and a Ph.D. in the Administration of Special Education.

Bible Studies

I attended The Institute of Biblical Studies, Moody Bible Institute, correspondence courses, in addition to various and numerous Bible Studies since the 1960s. I have been an enthusiastic student of the Bible as it is not only very interesting, it has wisdom we can apply in our everyday lives. I would be happy to help students in their Bible studies.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have an Elementary Teaching Credential and have been involved in teaching for decades. I have a Masters Degree in Special Education and a Ph.D. in the Administration of Special Education. In these programs, as well as my B.A. and initial teacher credentialing programs, I learned a great deal about ways to facilitate learning for a variety of students with differing ways of learning.

I have written two books in addition to my master's thesis and my doctoral dissertation. Writing is an important skill and it really can be a fun way to communicate your ideas and connect with others. I am a retired teacher and have decades of experience facilitating others as they develop their knowledge and skills.

More importantly, I have over twenty years of experience working with students with special needs and many happy examples of learning success!
