Hey! My name is Tyler and coaching Track and Field is something I love to do!
What’s so great about me you may ask? Well I am still young and energetic; I am a people's person, and love coaching and helping people reach their full potential. What all students love about me is that I don't only tell them the form, or tell them the motion, but I actually demonstrate and perform the steps in ways they can visualize and see for themselves. I believe being able to visualize correct form is the first step to being able to demonstrate it 100%.
A little about my past is when i was a little baby i was the "dare devil" type, I loved climbing on the couch and jumping off seeing how far I can jump. I was born in Shizuoka Japan, so my nickname was "JumpinAsian." In 6th grade I tried out for the Long jump and Triple jump because I wanted to live up to my nick name JumpinAsian, but little did I know this was going to be a part of who I actually am. I won districts my 7th and 8th grade year of track in the Long and Triple jump. In High school I won Freshman Districts, broke the school records, and qualified for State in 5A. I ended up being a 4 time Varsity letterman, qualified for regionals and nationals in California, and I've been coaching Jumps ever since. It's who I am, and it's what I love to do.
I never would have thought Long and Triple jump was for me, a lot of people who end up being state champs never thought it was for them either when they first tried it. This is the most fun event in all Track and Field in my opinion, I mean, who doesn't love running full speed and jumping into sand for a sport? I can't promise you a State title, or to ensure you a spot on the Olympic team, but what I can promise you is that you will bring out talent far more than you could ever imagine was inside of you. Why not see what you're fully capable of?
I hope to hear from you all soon! Track season is just approaching in less than 1 month! This is the time to shine! This is the year for you! Let’s make 2013 your best Track season yet! I have a very flexible schedule, contact me anytime and I will promise you I will be available whenever you have the time to meet up! Hey! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
The Long and Triple Jump events in Track and Field are two very similar and complex events. Mastering the form is something that takes a lot of practicing. I have been doing these events myself for many years, and have taught people at different schools on how to improve their jumps. I've been a 4 year varsity letterman and state qualifier, been to track camps, and have worked alongside with the Legendary Willie Banks, a Triple jump prodigy.
