Northern Arizona University (English)
Hello! I am a stay-at-home mom who is looking to make some extra money doing what I love...helping people and writing. I have a bachelor's degree in English and have education and experience working in journalsim as well. This combination has provided me with a lot of broad writing and editing abilities. I am well aware of what teachers and professors look for in essays, poetry, short stories, research reports, oral presentations, etc. I receievd my degree from Northern Arizona University and graduated in 2003. I worked in sports reporting for a short while as an intern during college. I also had several journalism courses that required my presence and involvement in city government and current affairs.
In addition to writing and editing, I can help with basic reading skills as well. I believe in providing as much literature that the student finds interesting as possible. Take it from me, there's nothing more detrimental to the love of reading than being forced to read books you can't relate to or enjoy.
I can assist students with general computer questions as well and have become efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Finally, although I personally blew them off during high school, I now realize the importance of receiving a great score on SAT's and ACT's. These scores can single-handedly get you a scholarship if your GPA isn't great or if the college you want simply chooses to focus more on test scores. I can work with students on the reading and writing portions of these tests.
As long as your problem isn't mathematical, give me a call and we'll give it a go.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a born-again Christian who attends Faith Community Bible Church in Boise, ID. I am passionate about theology and believe that getting into the Word deeply and thoroughly is incredibly vital and sadly uncommon. I have participated in many Bible studies and am doing so currently.
I have a lot of experience working with general computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. I can help with putting together a PowerPoint presentation and actually make it fun. I think it's essential these days to get a good grasp on how to use these programs as they are basically required to some extent in every job out there.
