About Kesha

I LOVE to learn and in turn I LOVE to teach!
I am a professional educator with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and an emphasis in Spanish language from Lewis Clark State College. I have 15yrs of professional experience teaching/tutoring. I am also a home educator with 18yrs of multi-grade simultaneous instruction with the inclusion of special needs students. All kids learn differently and it is my firm belief that there is always more than one way to gain understanding. I love seeing students become confident and successful in their ability to learn by unlocking their learning style. Because so many students seem to be hindered by a variety of learning struggles I have educated myself on many different learning struggles and a variety of positive learning strategies to help students become as successful and confident as possible.
My areas of strength are K-8 English, Grammar, Writing, Reading, Spelling/Vocabulary, Research, Math, Science, History.
I have 11yrs of experience teaching Spanish (Elementary through High School) and absolutley love the Spanish language and culture.
Students are often already struggling to understand a concept, relearning a failed concept or learning something altogether new and they need a learning environment free from distraction in which they can focus. For this reason I prefer to meet at a library, but am happy to meet a local family in their home and am also available online. Please commit to providing your student a comfortable, quiet, focused environment for each tutoring session.
Because I have a busy family I realize life can be a bit unpredictable.....and try to be understanding about cancellations/rescheduling...so please respect my time and availability by giving me at least 2 hours notice of any cancelation/rescheduling needs that arise. Otherwise, you will be billed for the scheduled session.
I love helping students unlock a love for learning and gain increased confidence in themselves and the classroom! Let's Learn!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

Along with my education I have spent the last fifteen years researching and teaching American History to students K-8. I find the founding of our country and its history very interesting and love to share that interest with my students. I commonly engage my students in a variety of hands on activities to engage them in the subject matter and make learning history more fun.

Very dedicated, patient and encouraging!!

Kesha tutored my daughter in college level Spanish. I cannot thank her enough for the extra time she spent planning each session and explaining thoroughly what was taught that day and what the goals were for the next session. I felt very much in the loop! She is a GREAT tutor and a really nice person!
