University of Colorado, Boulder (SPAN for Professions)
I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder. There, I earned a Bachelor of Language and Arts for International Spanish for the Professions. As I move towards a permanent career, I would like to use my skills to help those wanting to learn Spanish. Through my education and travel background, I can not only tutor in the Spanish language but the culture as well. It is through experience that I have gained extensive Spanish exposure.
I have lived in these Hispanic areas:
-Buenos Aires, Argentina
-San Juan Puerto Rico
I have traveled in South and North America, Central America, and Europe.
I have professionally worked with Spanish as: Manager's Assistant at an immigrant law firm, an interpreter at an Affordable Housing Agency, an intern at a Puerto Rican advertising firm, and a bilingual snowboard instructor.
I will pair learning methods I practiced throughout my studies with technology to aid in learning capabilities. My teaching approach is case specific. Every student learns in their own manner. I will create a lesson plan unique to each student's needs. Learning a new language should be fun! My goal for each session will be to teach while maintaining an exciting learning atmosphere. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
