I graduated in elementary education in 2011. I've spent several years in the classroom as a teacher and have always connected with students of any age group. One day when I was a bit younger I felt impressed that I should strive to develop my teaching skills and so I prayed to develop the ability to teach and worked to become a fantastic teacher and tutor. Now I've built lots of confidence in my ability to teach and want to help students also have confidence in their learning ability. And, I know you can.
I strive to make learning fun. I believe in practice, discipline, and focus-- and can help you if you struggle with that. I'm here to help!
In college I was required to take 3 literacy classes. In these classes I learned all about the right approaches and perspectives necessary to effectively teach reading. A fundamental idea we learned was that we should work to assist students to read at an "instructional reading level." Reading at too high of levels cause students to feel frustrated. The second fundamental idea that I learned was that there is a natural development for learning to read well. There are specific steps that students have to take to really become fantastic readers.
I am a pro at teaching anything to elementary school students. A big part of teaching elementary school kids is seeking to understand not only their academic development but their attitudes towards learning these subjects. It is important to help them develop and maintain good attitudes about learning and beliefs about their ability to learn. I can teach math, handwriting, spelling, and anything within the realm of elementary learning with ease.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
