While I love research, my favorite part about my graduate studies is getting the chance to teach students in a small-group setting. I most enjoy seeing students develop a passion for the material and see their work pay off as their skills improve. Both in my group teaching and tutoring, I emphasize flexibility and one-on-one support. Each student is different with different needs.

As part of my graduate studies, I served as an assistant to professors in three different courses. In my role, I led three small-group classes of 10-15 students each semester, where I was responsible for reviewing class materials and, most importantly, answering questions and concerns that the students had and couldn't bring up in a large-class lecture format. I have thoroughly enjoyed and learned from these experiences. My student reviews are excellent, and commonly refer to my ability to make the subject relatable, communicate material clearly, and give personalized attention to each student.

My undergraduate degree was in both Political Science and Economics, after which I earned a Master's degree in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am currently in the fourth year of a Political Science PhD with a minor in Religious Studies. While my current specialty is in religion and politics, I have also worked on large projects involving international banking, conflict resolution, and also an experiment on natural resource management.

I learned Spanish through university study and two years living in Bogota, Colombia during my undergraduate, where I used the language every day. I love teaching foreign languages because, like political science, they are a widely and immediately applicable skill. I am happy to teach Spanish as a foreign language as well as to teach social science topics in the Spanish language.

Your success is my success, and I commit to getting you to your goals. I look forward to hearing from you!

Interim Report

It was our first meeting. So went briefly through the topic I need help with, explained important points in my dissertation and what is required by my institution. Then we discussed mainly how to organize my paper, apply bullet points to make my writing clearer to the reader and send a draft to be reviewed before our official lesson.
