I have 7 plus years working in school districts in normal and Special Education classroom. I enjoy assisting students who are below grade level with results bringing them to or above grade level skills. I have experience working in Title I elementary programs, substitute teaching in grades K-8. I have previously been contracted to be an instructor with our local college in their summer learning Kids College programs. I have taught Legos engineering for two summers and a "Crazy Science" class. These classes were for students ages eight-12.
Previously, I was an Education Coordinator working with homeless children and adults (a non-profit organization). I assessed students ability and then developed an education plan to assure that would be successful in school. Also, I assisted the parents/adults with their education pursuits.
I am a people/kid person and enjoy teaching others so that they may help themselves and have resources to fulfill their educational goals. Time spent with student and preparation for lesson
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been working with an autistic elementary student for three years. We work in all areas (math, reading, social sciences, spelling, etc.) needed to complete his homework assignments.
I also have seven years experience working with special education students within a public school setting. I have assisted students with academic and life skill learning.
I played clarinet in school band for 5 years. I went to contests and received good ratings.

I have an BA in Education. During my college courses, I wrote curriculum for dyslexic students.
I have a BA in Elementary Education. I have 8 years of experience working with students in preschool to high school.
Four years of this experience has been working with 2 area elementary schools with students below grade level.
