Geology is my passion but I also adore finding ways to snake science part of everyday life. A recent example: one of my children wanted to make rainbow lemonade but couldn’t understand why her brother said it would turn brown when she tried to layer the colors. We went to the kitchen and pulled out ten different liquids. She worked out what density is all on her own as we poured different liquids together to see what would happen. This is how I live my life. Taking the questions children have and helping them answer the question themselves.
I have taught a GRE prep course which requires extensive knowledge of geometry, statistics, and arithmetic.
I have a master’s degree in geology with a specialization in invertebrate paleontology. I have taught Earth Science for the past eleven years and have experience teaching Astronomy and Oceanography courses.
I adore helping students apply learning to their lives. What are your hobbies or passions? I will learn about them to incorporate them into our learning.
