Hi, I'm Lillian! I'm an experienced early childhood teacher, with five years in the field and two years working as a certified kindergarten teacher. I graduated from Indiana University with three majors - English, Spanish, and International Studies. After three years working at a preschool, I got my Master's degree in Teaching and have since been working as a kindergarten teacher in my own classroom. I have also worked part-time with high school students as an SAT instructor and language tutor in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My passion for teaching kids centers around getting them excited about learning! In tutoring sessions, my goal is to help students gain confidence about themselves and their abilities. I believe learning should be fun and engaging for students, and I use this approach to help me design instruction that will get students excited about the topics they are studying. I love all age groups of kids, and I work hard to tailor each session to meet the needs of each individual student!
I specialize in languages - English and Spanish - but I also tutor in Math up to Algebra 2. I also tutor SAT and ACT students, and am available to help high school students with college applications and essays. I have been in many different classrooms and worked with a wide variety of students since I started my career in education, so I'm willing to work with your student regardless of age or learning style.
I value strong relationships with the students I tutor and their families, and it's very helpful for me to receive feedback from families about my work with their students! I am responsive and professional in communications, and I appreciate suggestions or resources that families can provide to further support their students in my tutoring sessions. I am excited to work with your student and I look forward to connecting with you soon!
