I'm a professional writer and editor who graduated magna cum laude in Ancient Greek with a second major in philosophy. I have hundreds of hours' experience tutoring Latin, logic (philosophy), algebra, and standardized test prep (SAT/ACT) online to students ranging from their teen years to age 70+. My approach is to help walk students through topics directly until they have mastered the subject and can demonstrate that without prompting. In logic, we work on fallacies, truth tables, quantifiers, rules of inference and replacement, natural deduction, and predicate logic. In math, I've helped guide college students through the entire ALEKS system, and I've also helped high schoolers factor polynomials and graph parabolas.
I am also experienced in tutoring Latin, having studied it for six years between high school and college. Whether you are reading Cicero or just learning the basics from Wheelock, Ecce Romani or another textbook, let me help you understand those complicated constructions and translate everything into good English prose. Finally, English writing is my true area of expertise. I have a master's in journalism, but don't worry, I still write pretty well. (A little joke.) If you've written up a draft of that big paper, then I am just the guy to help proof and polish it for you.
Please drop me a line -- I am available weekends and most days after 5 p.m. Eastern.
