Duke (Mech. Engineering)
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Duke University with a minor in history. I am currently employed full time, and have two kids of my own. I have lectured in a University setting as a graduate student at Virginia Tech. When I'm not working I can usually be found curled up with a book or out enjoying the outdoors with my family.
Through helping my kids and the work I did at VT I found that I truly enjoy helping students learn and reach their academic potential.
I've always been excellent at math, and have been the go-to for many of my friends and family over the years. I've recently had more experience with elementary and middle school math and science, but I tutored math all four years I was in high school. I'm also familiar with Common Core
I would love to teach students of any background and age. Please contact me to discuss and iron out any details or questions that you may have! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
