Hello, and thank you for taking the time to check out my profile. My name is John, and I'm currently a PhD student at the University of Iowa. Aside from teaching classes at the university level the last couple years, I also have years of community service working with students from 2nd grade all the way through graduate degrees.

Everyone individual is unique, so each tutoring experience brings with it the challenge of identifying exactly what style of teaching works best. Sometimes my goal is to help a student "catch up", other times it's to provide a challenge to talented and gifted students. Whatever your goal, rest assured that I take teaching addition just as seriously as I do teaching computational data analysis.

As someone who will be teaching for years to come as I pursue my Ph. D, teaching and tutoring is my passion. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Years of experience teaching math to students as young as 2nd grade and as old as college seniors. I teach everything from basic addition to algorithms and R analyses.

If you're interested in seeing if I'd be a good fit for you, just let me know! First lesson will be half off, otherwise there's no way for you to know you'll be getting your money's worth.

Public Speaking

I developed my experience with public speaking during my college years. As an undergraduate I served as a cultural language ambassador, regularly giving college tours to large groups of people, presenting study abroad programs to classes of 200+, etc. As a Graduate student, I continued to develop my public speaking when I became President of our Graduate Student Senate. I had to publicly address college administrators, as well as the students I served as the voice for.
