I teach high school Earth & Space Science and Biology in Iowa City. This past school year marked by 5th year at City High School and my 6th year teaching overall. I coach junior high volleyball and high school basketball, and serve on the Instructional Leadership Team at our school.
My teaching endorsement is from Loras College in 5-12 general and biological sciences. I graduated from Monmouth College in 2010 with undergraduate degree in biopsychology, so I have fundamental knowledge of psychology and the sciences. In 2019 I completed my Master's in Educational Psychology from Capella University.
I also have coaching experience in the following sports:
golf (collegiate level)
basketball (collegiate level)
volleyball (middle school)
track & field (middle school)
I've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of children at the Loras All-Sports Camp in Dubuque, Iowa since 2009. This has helped me learn how to interact with different levels of kids, ages 7-14. I like to think I'm outgoing, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude.
In college I was a teaching assistant and provided extra help to those students in various classes who had questions or wanted additional one-on-one time with an instructor. Also at Monmouth, I was able to be an academic coach where I helped students with organization, study habits, prioritizing, and note/test taking.
