I am a retired school teacher with many years of teaching experience. I am currently licensed in the state of Iowa (K-12)with a Master's of Science Degree and a firm believer that education is a truly life-long endeavor. My experience is in teaching students with special needs and believe that all students deserve the best education possible. I have taught all subject disciplines with various age groups with the exception of the arts, music, and theater.
My philosophy on teaching and tutoring students is to first develop an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust between your child and me. After that rapport is established, we then proceed to work on the subject matter that is at hand and develop the skills necessary to ensure academic success. My hope is that the relationship we develop will continue after the tutoring sessions end and would enjoy the opportunity to remain a mentor in your child's academic achievement with your approval.
Thank you for your time a would enjoy the opportunity to work with your child.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
