Drake University (Pre-Law, Sociology)
My name is Domenic L., and I am a graduate of Drake University. I studied Law, Politics, & Society with a double major in Sociology. I will be teaching English at Chongqing Liangjiang Middle School in Chongqing, China beginning in September 2015. I love teaching and am looking forward to the opportunity to spend an entire year teaching English! I enjoy tutoring and want to spend my summer helping students develop their reading and writing skills.
I have experience tutoring mostly older students. I served as a Peer Mentor/Academic Consultant at Drake University for a year, which entailed assisting a group of twenty students with their academic work. I also taught first year students at Drake as an Honors Practicum leader. In this role, I helped develop my students' reading and writing skills in order to prepare them for college work.
Both of my college majors are writing-intensive, and my tutoring experience focused on reading and writing at a college level. As such, I have a great deal of experience both writing myself and assisting others in the development of their writing.
Please feel free to contact me via email or by phone. My name is Domenic L., and I am a graduate of Drake University. I studied Law, Politics, & Society with a double major in Sociology. I will be teaching English at Chongqing
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
