Yale Divinity School (Master's)
My name is David. I am a Master's of Divinity candidate at Yale Divinity School. I concentrate in New Testament Studies, a field I am preparing for studies in at the doctoral level. Since my high school years I have been passionate about helping students get organized, succeed in the classroom, and develop tailor-made strategies for studying, essay writing, and over academic progress. Having worked as an academic adviser for three years in New York City and subsequently for three years in Bridgeport and New Haven, I am confident that I will be able to help any student who has difficulty in the area of writing. I also have the pleasure of helping high school juniors and seniors in their preparation for college. I help to brainstorm, write and proof-read college essays. I also aid in filling out with the Common Application step by step. Finally, I help each student to craft school specific writing supplements. My services make what can be an arduous process, as painless as possible.
My process of talking essays and application points out loud with students is my particular strength. I am dedicated to working with students to discover and articulate the passions, dreams and aspirations that they already have. We take those convictions and together paint a portrait of the college student they want to be. I am convinced that most students know what they want to say, they just need a guide who will help them. I can be that guide for your child. I will help strengthen their grammar, writing skills, and craft the perfect application for the colleges on their list. References from past employers and families are available upon request. I look forward to working with your family!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a third year Master's of Divinity Student at Yale Divinity School. I have taken survey courses in both Old and New Testament classes. I have had three years instruction in Koine Greek and one year of instruction in Biblical Hebrew.
I have worked as an academic adviser with a concentration in College Counseling for three years. I have worked with juniors preparing their college lists, categorizing their schools into reaches, middles and safety schools based on school and standardized test performance. I also work with seniors in preparing essays as well as filling out and submitting applications on time.
As a Master's level graduate student, I am required to do copious amounts of reading, writing, and synthesizing of information. These skills have been developed in me to a point where I can effectively teach students proven methods to do them better. I am a strong writer and can help students develop into strong writers as well.
